Counselor of the Parliament of Paris (1627) and Maître des Requêtes to Queen Maria de’Medici. Alongside the study of law, he undertook the study of the classics, in particular Greek. He died suddenly in 1638, after having completed a translation of Lucian and Heliodorus, commentaries on Juvenal, and a Traité de l'étymologie des mots François.
